&Beyond invests in new and refurbished lodges for 2018

&Beyond is opening a new property in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, &Beyond Tengile River Lodge on December 1, 2018. It will share the same traversing rights as &Beyond Kirkman’s Kamp.

It will feature nine suites overlooking the Sand river. Raised above ground level, the suites will offer sunken lounges, and bedrooms that open out onto the forest. The living areas can be converted to cater for children’s sleeping arrangements at night. The camp will also feature a spa and gym area.

In KZN, &Beyond Phinda Homestead is being rebuilt following a fire in December 2016. It will open on September 1, 2018 and reservations are now open. Also at &Beyond Phinda Private Game Reserve, Phinda Vlei Lodge will be refurbished. The new interior design will be inspired by the turn of the century plantation-style homesteads of KZN’s sugar cane and pineapple barons. A library will be added to the guest areas, while bathrooms will be completely refurbished. The dining deck will also be extended to allow for covered al fresco dining.

Situated in Kenya’s Masai Mara, &Beyond Bateleur Camp will also receive a complete refurbishment over the coming months, with the new camp slated to reopen in March 2018. New details will include built-in daybeds on spacious verandas, lighter interiors and butler hatches. A stone courtyard will be accessed through the redesigned bathrooms. A massage sala is being added, as well as a fitness centre, safari shop, coffee and gin bar and new decking around the swimming pool. A spacious family suite has been planned to cater for families travelling together.
