BOSJES in the Breede River Valley has launched its open-air TeeTuin or tea garden, with a menu of home-baked sweet and savoury treats to enjoy with tea, coffee, or cold refreshments.
BOSJES is a family-owned protea and fruit farm with large landscaped gardens, so visitors to the TeeTuin can explore the surroundings or even spend a night on the farm.
The tea garden’s menu includes carrot cake with cream cheese frosting; homemade scones with jam and cream; chocolate eclairs; oatmeal and raisin cookies; muffins; and meringues prepared under the supervision of BOSJES’ executive chef, Kim Cox. On summer days, the chef’s signature vanilla ice-cream, served in a sugar cone or with a chocolate brownie, and peanut butter caramel popcorn milkshake are popular choices. On the savoury side, choose from quiche or pie served with a side salad, or a gourmet sandwich filled with roasted vegetables, mozzarella and basil pesto.
For something more substantial, the farm’s restaurant, BOSJES Kombuis, is open for lunch.
The TeeTuin is open between 10h00 and 16h00, from Wednesday to Sunday weather-permitting. For further enquiries, call +27 (0)23 004 0496 or visit www.bosjes.co.za.
