Desert Grace opens in the Namib

The Gondwana Collection has opened a new lodge in the Namib Desert, The Desert Grace. It is situated 60km north of Sesriem on the C19.

The property comprises 20 double rooms and four family units, each with its own plunge pool. The lodge has been built using environmentally friendly construction methods, with the main building consisting of sandbags that were filled on site. It is equipped with a water recycling plan, while the energy supply is largely covered by solar energy. The walkways feature recycled glass.

Visitors can discover the fossilised dunes and other wonders of the Namib Desert on a Dune Drive around the Gondwana Namib Park, which borders the World Natural Heritage site, the Namib Sand Sea. They can also join a guided half-day excursion to the highest dunes in the world at Sossusvlei. Other activities include e-bike tours, Scorpion Night Walks and walking trails around the property.
