Family-friendly Kruger lodge reopens after redesign

Fitzpatrick’s Lodge at Jock Safari Lodge reopened on 1 November 2018 in the Kruger National Park. The child-friendly, private camp was redesigned and developed by Luxury Frontiers as a “home away from home” for six guests. Accommodating families with children of all ages, Fitzpatrick’s is also well-suited to friends travelling together.

Fitzpatrick’s Lodge has a new lay-out and reimagined interiors and styling. Situated on the banks of the Biyamiti River, it is centred around spacious indoor and outdoor lounge and dining areas, complete with new TV lounge and a deck with a swimming pool.

The redesign includes a new enclosed family unit with two luxury suites with bathrooms, leading to a private lounge area, deck and plunge pool. Separately located, the third suite is completely private with its own plunge pool and deck with views across the river bed and wilderness.

The area in and around the 6 000-hectare concession is known for an abundance of birdlife and diversity of wildlife, including the Big 5 and wild dog. Twice-daily game drives are offered, as well as guided wilderness walks, while the Jock Kids on Safari programme encourages educational and recreational wildlife activities for children of all ages.
