Mantis Collection and the Rwanda Social Security Board (RSSB) have signed a 10-year hotel management and marketing agreement for Akagera Game Lodge.
The purpose of the agreement is to boost revenue performance of the facility while attracting and retaining global clientele. At the moment, Akagera Game Lodge is the only permanent accommodation facility inside Akagera National Park boundaries, with the exception of a number of tented safari camps.
Akagera Game Lodge more like a hotel than a traditional safari lodge. It is located on the shores of Lake Ihema and is open year-round with 64 rooms in total. Rooms range from singles, doubles, twins, family and executive suites, as well as cottages. Each room has a private veranda.
“We are glad to embark together with Mantis Group in this ambitious and strategic plan for Akagera Game Lodge, an important step in demonstrating the government of Rwanda’s expansion plan within the tourism industry and its potential to grow even further in the near future,” said Belise Kariza, Chief Tourism Officer of the Rwanda Development Board (RDB).
