New permanent Liuwa Plain camp opens its doors

Norman Carr Safaris, in conjunction with African Parks, has opened King Lewanika camp in Zambia’s Liuwa Plain. It is the only permanent camp located in the park.

Named after the Lozi King who proclaimed Liuwa Plain as a protected area in the 1880s, the camp is located on the upper Munde stream. It comprises six luxury villas, including a two-bedroom family villa, with capacity to accommodate a total of 15 guests.

The camp was designed by Silvio Rech and Lesley Carstens, who are also responsible for the design of Norman Carr Safari’s flagship camp, Chinzombi in Zambia’s South Luangwa National Park and sister property, Miavana, a new development in progress in Madagascar under the marketing umbrella of Time + Tide.
