Sanctuary Retreats to transform two camps

Sanctuary Retreats has announced refurbs for both Sanctuary Stanley’s Camp in Botswana’s Okavango Delta and Sanctuary Sussi & Chuma in Zambia’s Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park.

In April 2018, Sanctuary Stanley’s Camp will reopen with 10 new luxury canvas tents which will be significantly larger with new five-star fixtures. Each tent has a deck with views over the floodplains, while the in-room experience has been enhanced with the addition of a compact gym, yoga bag and well-stocked minibar and coffee station.

The upgraded central area will include the new Explorer Lounge modelled on the orientation room at Sanctuary Chief’s Camp. A new outdoor bar will also be added. In addition, a new solar farm will be added to generate 80% of the camp’s electricity.

Also set to for relaunch in April 2018 is the refreshed Sanctuary Sussi & Chuma, with all 12 treehouses being restyled with new furnishings and fittings inspired by traditional Zambian textiles and design. All treehouses will still have a riverfront terrace, free-standing bath and will feature five-star comforts such as gym bags and better ensuite privacy.

New communal areas will include an outdoor bar overlooking the Zambezi River with an extended outdoor decking area that includes a remodelled boma fire pit and dining area. The inside bar and restaurants will be restyled and an Explorer Lounge will be added.
